This training helps youth coaches understand their impact on young athletes' sport experiences. Coaches will learn practical strategies for teaching sports skills and supporting youth development, including effective ways to navigate parent interactions.

What You'll Learn

  • Raise awareness of the scope of youth sports and increase knowledge of your role as a coach.
  • Improve skills for how to coach (e.g., teaching skills and tactics).
  • Increase competencies for how to support broader development of young people through sport.

What You'll Earn

  • A Coach Beyond: Promoting Positive Behavior and Engagement certificate of completion from Ohio State's College of Social Work.

Additional Information

Targeted audiences: Coaches, athletic directors, educators, youth workers, and other adults working with young people. This version of the course is not approved for Social Work CE credit (clock hours).
