This course will provide an update on newly approved topical medications for the treatment of glaucoma and ocular hypertension. Emphasis will be placed on each drug’s indications, contra-indications, adverse effects, efficacy, and cost.

  • To identify the aspects of glaucoma pathophysiology that may be amendable to topical medical therapies.
  • To review the strengths and weakness of seven new topical glaucoma medications.
  • To use clinical cases to identify patients who may benefit from one of the new medications.
  • To highlight the growing concern of the link between ocular surface disease and glaucoma.
