HORTSCI X003 - History of Golf Course Design and Management
This course explores the rich history of golf course design and management, from the origins of the game in Scotland to its evolution in the United States and beyond. Learners will examine the agronomic practices used in golf course maintenance, the development of golf equipment, and the cultural and historical milestones that have shaped the game. The course also includes interactive modules and bonus opportunities to deepen understanding and engagement.
Delivery Options
Online Self-Paced: A course that is available fully online with no scheduled class sessions. Students may begin at any time and must complete the course within 10 weeks. Modules include slide presentations, videos, interactive content, and quizzes.
Time to Completion
This course is projected to take approximately 42 hours to complete.
Course Completion Requirements
Students must complete all 9 modules and achieve an average quiz score of 70% or higher to pass. A score of 94% or higher earns a certificate with distinction. Each module includes a 25-question quiz, which may be attempted twice.
