AGRBM X001 - Farm On: OSU Farm Financial Management Course (S25)
This course supports beginning farmers in meeting the requirements of Ohio’s Beginning Farmer Tax Credit Program and the USDA FSA Borrower Training Program. Participants will build foundational knowledge in farm financial management, production record keeping, and enterprise analysis through ten structured modules and optional live Q&A sessions.
Delivery Options
Online Self-Paced with Live Q&A Sessions: A fully online course with no fixed due dates. Participants can work through modules independently between July 1st and September 30th, 2025. Optional live Q&A sessions will be held via Zoom on July 17th, August 14th, and September 11th, 2025.
Time to Completion
This course is projected to take approximately 18–22 hours to complete.
Course Completion Requirements
Participants must complete all ten modules and associated quizzes and assignments to receive a certificate of completion. A passing score of 80% is required on each quiz.
Technology Requirements
- For best performance, a computer or tablet that supports the most recent web browser versions can play mp4 files. It is recommended to use a computer five years old or newer with at least 1GB of RAM and high-speed internet connection. Some features may not be compatible with mobile devices.
- Adobe Acrobat Reader. Can be downloaded here for free.
- The recommended web browsers are Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge.

Along with the asynchronous modules, participants have the opportunity to attend 3 synchronous Content Overview and Q&A sessions scheduled for the following dates:
- Thursday, July 17th, 7:00 PM (Modules 1-3)
- Thursday, August 14th, 7:00 PM (Modules 4-7)
- Thursday, September 11th, 7:00 PM (Modules 8-10 and Business Plan)
