MTHM X001 - Beyond the Classroom MathMagic
Beyond the Classroom – Math Magic is a virtual math camp sponsored by The Ohio State University. Designed for students aged 11–18 (but open to all), this course invites learners to explore mathematics in fun, colorful, and creative ways—much like scientists conducting experiments. Through engaging activities and “mathmagic” tricks, students will gain a deeper appreciation for what professional mathematicians do and discover the joy of mathematical thinking.
Delivery Options
Online Self-Paced: This course is fully online and self-paced. Learners complete interactive tasks and quizzes to unlock digital stickers and earn a certificate of completion. The course is designed to be exploratory and engaging, with no prior math expertise required.
Time to Completion
Time to completion varies by learner. Completing four mathmagic tricks earns a certificate, but students are encouraged to explore all available content at their own pace.
Course Completion Requirements
To earn a certificate, learners must complete and pass the quizzes for at least four mathmagic tricks. Each trick includes multiple tasks with interactive instructions and activities.
