SWK X015 - Transition Age Youth and Systems of Care
This training is designed to familiarize participants with the unique needs and challenges of transition age youth from a neurobiological perspective. This training explains commonly used terms and programs when working with transition age youth and uses case examples to enhance learning. Participants will obtain resources and tools that may be helpful in assessing needs, supports and planning with this population.
Delivery Options
This training is constructed as a non-interactive, video-based asynchronous distance learning training.
Time to Completion
Total Asynchronous Time is approximately 2 hours.
Training Completion Requirements
- Participants must submit a pre-training survey, complete all coursework requirements, and pass the training post-test with a score of at least 80%. Unlimited attempts are allowed.
- The post-training evaluation survey will be immediately available once the required coursework and post-test are finished, and the evaluation must be completed to receive CE credit.

Presenter
Kristina Knight, MSW, LISW-S
Trauma Informed Care Administrator, The Buckeye Ranch
Kristina Knight, MSW, LISW-S, is the trauma informed care administrator at The Buckeye Ranch. She earned her MSW from The Ohio State University. She is a phase II certified clinician in the Neurosequential Model (childtrauma.org). She works across the organization training team members and supervisors while participating in program development and integrating trauma-informed principles across the agency. Knight also works with the professional development team supporting the implementation of employee development strategic initiatives. She has an extensive background in child welfare, with specialized expertise in working with transition aged youth. Knight also works in private practice as a trainer in mental health didactics for companies and organizations, including several police departments, the state of Ohio, CPD, Spectrum and Adena Health. Knight is “Farm-Stress Certified” by The Ohio State University, trained in Stress First Aid and Mental Health First Aid and sits on the OSU College of Social Work Alumni Board. Knight is also a member of The Ohio State University’s Stakeholder Advisory Council for the Adolescent Health and Resiliency Project and continues to act in a consulting capacity for high acuity cases that involve transition age youth.
Continuing Education Approvals
The Ohio State University College of Social Work provides approvals for continuing education for counselors, social workers, and marriage and family therapists that are accepted by the state of Ohio Counselor, Social Work, and Marriage and Family Therapist (CSWMFT) Board.
The Ohio State University College of Social Work has been approved by the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals (CDP) Board as a provider of Continuing Education, approval number: 50-24068.
Certificates & CE Reporting
CE certificates will be available for download in your learner portal within 1 business day after submitting the evaluation survey.
Hours for those with Ohio licenses that are submitted with the evaluation survey will be reported to CE Broker every 14 days (twice per month).
⚠️ Note: You may only complete this training once for CE credit. You may revisit the content, but only one certificate will be issued and credit will only be reported to CE Broker one time.
