The goals of this online course are to introduce you to mosquitoes and related Nematocera (including sand flies, black flies, and biting midges), as well as highlight some fascinating aspects about their basic biology and the impacts they have on animal and human health (with an emphasis on domestic animals). This course is approved for CE credit by the Ohio Veterinary Medical Licensing Board (OVMLB) on an hour-per-hour basis.

What You’ll Learn

  • Identify key biological characteristics of mosquitoes, sand flies, black flies, and biting midges
  • Describe their roles in animal and human health, with a focus on domestic animals
