The Ohio State University Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Passport to Excellence includes a series of mini-courses designed to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities for individuals working in clinical research as clinical research professionals, staff, or junior investigators. This provides opportunities for asynchronous, on-demand micro-learning.

This course is designed to provide a fundamental understanding of the requirements for informed consent for different types of vulnerable participants

What You’ll Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the vulnerable participant or group of individuals.
  • Distinguish the differences of the informed consent process with specific populations than those with the general population.
  • Review informed consent processes in emergency situations.
