The Ohio State University Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI), Passport to Excellence includes a series of mini-courses designed to provide knowledge, skills, and abilities for individuals working in clinical research as clinical research professionals, staff, or junior investigators. This provides opportunities for asynchronous, on-demand micro-learning.

This course is designed to provide a fundamental knowledge of clinical research, investigational new product development and approval processes.

What You’ll Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Define the phases of new investigational drug development.
  • Explain the differences between drugs, generics, and biologics.
  • Identify how the FDA classifies devices.
  • Summarize the stages for investigational device development.

What You’ll Earn

  • This course provides 0.9 Nursing Contact Hours from The Ohio State University College of Nursing at no charge. The OSU College of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation, provider # N008222.
