We spend countless hours devising curricula to help our students and residents learn the right material to take appropriate care of patients. Faculty invest significant time and energy in creating lectures, participating in small group sessions, and teaching at the bedside. We want our learners to be the best they can be. To do this, we need to be able to provide useful feedback using evidence-based principles.

What You’ll Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the importance of feedback in improving learner performance
  • Differentiate between directive, facilitative, specific, verifying, and elaborative types of feedback
  • Describe evidence for at least two general principles for effective feedback in medical education

What You’ll Earn

  • A certificate of completion issued by The Ohio State University
