In “Medical Simulation Phase 1: Simulation Preparation” you developed your simulation and are now ready for your learners to arrive. But are you really ready to facilitate them? No matter how much you have prepared, facilitating a simulation session can be overwhelming. This module provides the recommended approach to facilitating a simulation session using a human patient simulator. Topics include roles, how to conduct a simulation pre-brief, and debrief preparation using an information-gathering template.

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the role of the facilitator before and during a simulation
  • Define “pre-brief” as it relates to medical simulation
  • Describe the components of a simulation pre-brief
  • Gather information during a simulation to prepare for a simulation debrief
