Physicians are under unprecedented stress with the need to embrace ever growing bodies of information, complex patient challenges, advancing technology, and the ever changing health care landscape.  This module will offer strategies to nourish meaning and commitment, and enhance resilience in the complex health care environment.

What You’ll Learn

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize factors contributing to physician distress as well as the personal and professional consequences of physician distress and burnout
  • Identify characteristics of individuals with a sense of well-being
  • Describe several pedagogical concepts and strategies underlying experiential exercises to enhance resilience in medicine
  • Identify several exercises to help promote reflection, self-awareness and self-care in learners
  • Become aware of additional resources for fostering well-being in learners
