CLNTEACH X226 - Advancing Your Clinical Teaching (10): Micro-Teaching (bedside)
This module, designed by Dr. Josh Black, a Med-Peds Hospitalist at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital, focuses on improving the teaching skills of increasingly busy clinical educators. Increasing demands on clinicians’ time has left less time to focus on learners and to ensure appropriate skill development required at the end of rotations. Microteaching strategies use evidence-based teaching best practices to shift focus to learner-driven models and take less time to complete. This module uses hypothetical learner interactions to practice and model two distinct conceptual frameworks, to utilize the RIME methodology to adapt teaching to individual learners, and to employ early preparation by utilizing curriculum scripts to improve time efficiency in teaching.
