INSTRTCH X003 - Immersive Digital Escape Rooms 101: Part 1 - An Introduction
This first course of the two-part series on Immersive Digital Educational Escape Rooms (IDEERs) provides an introduction to the history, benefits, pedagogical approaches, and foundational design skills that will set you up to create and design your own IDEERs through the step-by-step design process covered in part two of the series. You will explore the evolution of escape rooms in education, pedagogical shifts, and the impact of IDEERs on student engagement, motivation, and learning technologies including Generative AI.

Online, Self-Paced: This course is available fully online with no scheduled class sessions or fixed due dates. You can start coursework at any time and work through it independently at your own pace, within the timeframe designated. Online modules may include readings, lecture videos, assignments, quizzes and more.
Time to Completion
Learners can expect to spend approximately 10 hours completing this course.
Course Completion Requirements
Learners must achieve a minimum score of 80% to receive recognition and earn the credential.
