OPTM X309 - Scleral Lensfitting Logic and Applications

This course provides a comprehensive review of scleral lens fitting principles and practical applications for clinicians who work with specialty contact lenses. Participants will gain an understanding of the indications for scleral lens use, the anatomy and design elements of these lenses, and the fitting relationship goals necessary for optimal performance and ocular health. The course breaks down the fitting process step-by-step, focusing on diameter selection, central and limbal clearance assessment, edge alignment, and power determination. Real-world clinical case examples are incorporated throughout to illustrate troubleshooting strategies and demonstrate decision-making in managing complex corneal and ocular surface conditions.
