Welcome to the Ohio Minds Matter module on Suicide. This module is part of a series of learning activities intended to provide information on important topics in child and youth behavioral health. This module will help you gain additional knowledge about the unique challenges associated with child and youth suicidality, allowing you to more confidently manage patient’s presenting with these symptoms. The better you understand suicide in children and you, the better equipped you will be able to provide effective care. Primary care providers with the right knowledge and skills can make a dramatic impact on the lives of young people with behavioral health conditions and those of their family members.

What You'll Learn

By the end of the course, providers will be able to:

  • Use evidence-based tools to help identify suicide risk
  • Gather information to determine the severity of suicide risk
  • Initiate a plan to address suicide risk in a timely and comprehensive manner.
