The Public Health and Social Services Evaluation – Intermediate course is the second course in a three-level, non-credit certificate series. Learners are encouraged to complete the series sequentially, as each level builds upon the knowledge and skills introduced in the previous level. Building on the foundations established in the Beginner course, this intermediate-level course focuses on collecting, analyzing, and using data to support evaluation and decision-making in public health and social service settings. Through a combination of interactive modules, applied activities, quizzes, and assessments, learners will explore quantitative and qualitative data collection methods, data analysis techniques, and approaches for translating findings into meaningful action.

Designed for public health practitioners, program and service providers, graduate and undergraduate students, and early-to-mid career professionals, this course strengthens learners' ability to generate, interpret, and apply evaluation data. Learners will gain hands-on experience developing survey instruments and interview protocols, analyzing and interpreting qualitative and quantitative findings, and applying data-to-action frameworks to improve programs, services, and outcomes.

By the end of the course, learners will have the skills and confidence to collect and analyze evaluation data, communicate findings effectively, and use evidence to inform decision-making and continuous improvement efforts across a variety of community, public health, and social service environments.
