GERONT X007 - Gerontology - Mental Health at the End-of-Life
While older adults are prone to all of the mental health problems experienced by those years younger than they are, they are at high risk for a number of common mental health difficulties. This module reviews the components of a mental health assessment as well as those strategies designed to keep older adults mentally healthy. In addition, the more common mental health challenges for this population will also be described and specific interventions will be suggested.

Participants who complete this module will be able to:
- List common psychosocial developmental tasks at the end of life that affect mental health.
- Review components of a mental health assessment.
- Name at least five intervention strategies that can improve the mental health of older adults at end-of-life.
- Identify anxiety, depression, delirium and dementia as the most common mental health problems during end of life.
- Resolve the mental health case study.
