Presenter: Taqdees Khan, LISW-S
Psychotherapist at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center - Behavioral Health Urgent Care
Taqdees Khan, LISW-S, has been a mental health practitioner in central Ohio for over 15 years. Her areas of expertise include crisis management and suicidality. She received her professional training at The Ohio State University and the City College of New York. However, her journey serving others started in Pakistan in homage to her mentor, Edhi: the ultimate social worker, philanthropist and humanitarian who taught her to live authentically and guide others to do the same, seeking goodness in all. Khan practices Edhi’s teaching through the core values of social work: service, competence, social justice, integrity, dignity, human relationships and the worth of the person being served – all values that intersect in the field of mental health. Throughout her professional adventures, Khan engages in daily self-care by reading, having thoughtful conversations, intentionally spending time with family and friends, jumping on the trampoline, dancing with her daughters and going on walks with her mom. She volunteers with Justice, Unity and Social Transformation and facilitates mental health townhalls across Columbus, Ohio.
