HECAOD X001 - Collegiate Recovery: An Introductory Course for Campus Professionals
This 6-hour course is designed for professionals new to working in the collegiate recovery field. During this course, participants will explore the history and evolution of the collegiate recovery field, student development theories and their applicability to collegiate recovery, strategies for destigmatizing recovery, and key components to developing a collegiate recovery program on campus.
Delivery Options
Online Self-Paced: A course that is available fully online with no scheduled class sessions or fixed due dates. You can start coursework at any time and work through it independently at your own pace, within the timeframe designated. Online modules may include readings, lecture videos, assignments, quizzes and more.
Time to Completion
This course is projected to take 6 hours to complete.
Course Completion Requirements
Successful completion of this course requires achieving a score of 80% or higher on quizzes. Quizzes can be taken multiple times.
Technology Requirements
- Use Chrome browser for Windows and MacOS (make sure both the browser and your computer OS are current and do not need updating)
- Avoid Internet Explorer and Microsoft Edge, as they do not seem to be compatible.

- A Collegiate Recovery: An Introductory Course certificate of completion from Ohio State's Higher Education Center for Alcohol and Drug Misuse Prevention and Recovery.
