OPTM X507 - Ocular Effects of Nutrition and Exercise

This course will review how oxidative stress manifests in the eyes as ocular disease. It will review the nutrients that are essential in combating oxidative stress and how they primarily can be obtained through diet. It will touch on the role of supplements, their indications, and the types of supplements on the market. Lastly, the early research findings on the benefits of exercise on the eye will be discussed.
